Set Sail aboard the Hispaniola with Long John Silver and the bloodthirstiest buccaneers that ever lived. Sing with the Sea Shanties and battle the high seas to where X marks the spot, yet tread lightly and be careful who you trust.

Ages 6-10
Tuition: $140
Mondays 4:00-5:00p.m.
April 19 - June 7, 2010

Students will re-enact folk tales, examine the treasures of Shakespeare, or create improvised stories in an action-packed class. Don't miss this favorite Stone Soup class! This quarter we will be using the script "Annansi and the Moss Covered Rock" and the class will culminate in performance.


Playwriting

Ages 13-17
Tuition: $265
Wednesdays 4:00-6:00p.m.
April 14 - June 2, 2010

This class will equip students with the techniques to write an original short play of not more than 10 pages. This workshop will examine the principles of drama through the perspective connection of ideas, character ,content and audience. Students will read established scenes and learn how dramatic writing differs from other genre’s and develop the tools to write dramatically. Playwright Dickey Nessenger teaches with past teaching credits which INCLUDE Freehold, Antioch and the Richard Hugo House.


Improvisation with Masks

Ages 8-16
Tuition: $235
Thursdays 4:00-6:00p.m.
April 15 - June 3, 2010

An original improvisational story is created using Greek, Neutral, clown and body masks. Students are taught how to find the attitude, intelligence, and creature aspects of masks as they create a story line. Learning to improvise with the masks is very powerful. We watch all self-consciousness melt away as the power of the masks are mastered. This class culminates in performance.
