Stone Soup Theatre seeks stage managers personable and detail oriented to work with either youth or adult casts in the 2009-10 season. Duties include organizing auditions and call backs, prop retrieval, communication with casts. Organizational skills are just as important as the ability to take over the show once it is open. Rehearsals for youth programs are Fridays 4–7 and Saturday mornings 10–1. Adult casts rehearse evenings and weekends. Stone Soup produces one-act plays in an intimate 50 seat theater. Technical theatre background is a plus when applying for this position. Stipend pay included.
Interns will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of costuming a production from concept to performance. This internship will provide practical work experience in the day to day operation of the costume department. Applicants should have some design experience and able to work collaboratively with directors to build, design and coordinate all costumes for live theatre events.
This internship will focus on all aspects of lighting and sound for Stone Soup Theatre 5 Main stage shows. The intern will work closely with Lighting Designer, assisting to hang, circuit, and focus lighting instruments, and program the light board. In addition, the intern will work with the sound engineer as an assistant.
The Marketing intern will assist in all aspects of communication with the media, Audience, generating story ideas, drafting news releases, creating displays, handling mailings, updating mailing lists, maintaining publicity files and developing creative, low cost plans to reach new audiences. Depending on the intern’s interests and aptitudes, he/she may also be given lead responsibilities for a short term campaign or project. Applicant must have experience with computer graphics and MS Outlook.
The Audience Services intern will assist in all aspects of Front of House Operations, assisting with mailings, and publicity tracking. Job duties will also include: Processing ticket orders, executing sales reports, managing front of house, coordination of volunteers. Must be detailed oriented with customer service, phone skills and basic math aptitude skills. Position would occur nights and weekends hours, as opposed to daytime hours.
